Barbara Sutherland

I have always been drawn to the natural world and have lived my life in awe of sunsets, studying the wonders of nature, and roaming forests, farms and shorelines. Although my life's path began in Pembroke and Toronto as a Nurse, and then the study of Urban Planning at the University of Waterloo,  my passion for art began with the study of art history at the University of Ottawa and the Dundas Valley School of Art.  This led to a lifetime pursuit of creating art in watercolours, acrylics, clay, plaster and encaustic.

It has been my privilege to study with many accomplished and professional artists across Canada, including Ken Kirkby, Jack Reid, Brent Heighton, E. Robert Ross and Bruno Capalongo.  I remain indebted to their generosity in sharing their techniques

I am currently a member of the Brant Visual Arts Guild.
